We would steer you elsewhere for
Formal interiors meant to look considered. Natural reads as an honest working surface, not a designed one.
How it reads
At a distance
Reads as a single solid dark mass — almost no variation from a distance, which is why it works across a large surface.
Close up
Fine mineral flecking appears at arm’s length, so the surface is never flat close up.
Through the day
The most changeable of the tones: flat light reads almost black, raking light picks out every edge.
When wet
Deepens toward true black and the flecking intensifies. Usually looks better wet than dry.

Stoneza — Anantay Exports Pvt. Ltd. — is a quarry-direct manufacturer, processor and exporter of Volcanic basalt, operating from Bhilwara, Rajasthan since 1992. We operate quarries at Bijolia, Kota and Asind alongside verified direct quarry networks across India, processing and calibrating every order through our in-house factories in Bhilwara with zero middle trader markups. We supply pan-India and export worldwide.
Send the quantity, the finish and thickness you need, and the delivery location. We come back with a firm quarry-direct quotation and a confirmed lead time. Thickness and finish options are confirmed at quotation stage. Because we quarry and process ourselves, the quotation comes from the works rather than through a trader — and we would rather quote against a real drawing than hand you an indicative range that changes later.
Basalt is the quarry and trade name; Lava Black is our name for it. The spec code is STZ-SR-LABL. Quote the spec code on a BOQ rather than either name — the same stone is sold under several names across India, which is exactly how substitution happens on site after a specification is approved.
The stone as it comes — flat, matt and slightly open in the grain. The most economical finish and a genuinely good one: it holds grip, hides wear, and lets the material read as stone rather than as a product. Nothing is added. The slab is sawn to thickness and calibrated on the back, and the face is left as the blade or the bed produced it. Every other finish starts here. Wet grip: high — suits wet areas. Grip when wet, no glare under low sun, and it weathers into a building rather than standing apart from it.
Sweep and damp-mop. No sealing required on low-absorption stone. If it ever looks tired it can be honed or polished in place decades later.
Size: 4 ft | 5 ft × 12" | 14" | 16". Thickness: 40 mm. Supplied palletised, edge-protected at approximately 5575 kg per sq ft. Custom sizing is available on project orders — send the setting-out and we will cut to it.
Mortar-bedded on masonry riser. Joint: 5-10 mm joint. Settle the substrate and the fixing detail with your consultant at design stage rather than on site — it is the single thing most often left too late, and on a stone job it cannot be adjusted afterwards without taking the work down.
Yes. At < 0.5% (very low) water absorption and 2900 kg/m³ density it is exterior grade. At under 1% absorption it needs no sealer and handles monsoon and wet areas without difficulty.
Yes. We export worldwide from Bhilwara with container loading, export packing and documentation handled in-house. Minimum order is project-based rather than a fixed count. For bulk and wholesale enquiries, container quantities and repeat programmes, send the schedule and we will quote FOB or CIF against it.
Yes, and we would rather you did. Ask for a wet sample as well as a dry one — every stone darkens when wet, some dramatically, and it is the one thing a photograph cannot show you.
Lava Black is volcanic basalt. Measured: water absorption
Optional matt sealer Use a breathable impregnating sealer, never a film-forming one. A film traps moisture inside the stone, and in Indian conditions it eventually clouds and lifts, at which point it has to be stripped. An impregnating sealer sits in the pores and lets the stone dry out. Reapply at the manufacturer’s interval, typically every few years on an exposed elevation and less often on a sheltered one.
Tell us your expected quantity and delivery site. A Stoneza consultant will calculate quarry-direct pricing, custom lead times, and arrange physical samples.
