Graphite with a fine linear grain.
Graphite with a fine linear grain.
Specify it for
Contemporary architecture, and anywhere a dark stone is wanted without the rustic association fieldstone usually carries. It is the Stonefield colour that sits most comfortably against glass, steel and render.
We would steer you elsewhere for
Heritage and traditional schemes, where its regularity works against the hand-laid character you are presumably buying fieldstone for. Choose Cosmic Black or Rustic Brown there instead.
How it reads
At a distance
Reads as a single solid dark mass — almost no variation from a distance, which is why it works across a large surface.
Close up
Fine mineral flecking appears at arm’s length, so the surface is never flat close up.
Through the day
The most changeable of the tones: flat light reads almost black, raking light picks out every edge.
When wet
Deepens toward true black and the flecking intensifies. Usually looks better wet than dry.

Stoneza — Anantay Exports Pvt. Ltd. — is a quarry-direct manufacturer, processor and exporter of Natural sandstone, operating from Bhilwara, Rajasthan since 1992. We operate quarries at Bijolia, Kota and Asind alongside verified direct quarry networks across India, processing and calibrating every order through our in-house factories in Bhilwara with zero middle trader markups. We supply pan-India and export worldwide.
Send the quantity, the finish and thickness you need, and the delivery location. We come back with a firm quarry-direct quotation and a confirmed lead time. Because we quarry and process ourselves, the quotation comes from the works rather than through a trader — and we would rather quote against a real drawing than hand you an indicative range that changes later.
Sagar Black is the quarry and trade name; Linea Black is our name for it. The spec code is STZ-LE-LINE. Quote the spec code on a BOQ rather than either name — the same stone is sold under several names across India, which is exactly how substitution happens on site after a specification is approved.
The natural face where the stone breaks along its bed — irregular relief, sharp shadow, and a surface no machine reproduces convincingly. The block is split rather than sawn, so the face is the stone’s own fracture plane. Backs and edges are machine-cut; the face is left entirely alone. Wet grip: high — suits wet areas. Genuine depth and shadow that changes through the day. The reason to clad in stone at all.
Wash down as needed. Deep relief collects dust on sheltered elevations, which usually reads as patina. Seal porous stone for exterior use.
Size: Length 4"–24" · Width 2.5"–4.5". Thickness: 22–25 MM. Supplied crate pack — 220 sqft/pack at approximately 5 kg per sq ft. Custom sizing is available on project orders — send the setting-out and we will cut to it.
Yes. At 1.5-2.5% water absorption and 2300 kg/m³ density it is exterior grade. Use a breathable impregnating sealer outdoors, never a film-forming one, and expect the stone to darken when wet — normal, and it reverses as it dries.
Yes. We export worldwide from Bhilwara with container loading, export packing and documentation handled in-house. Minimum order is project-based rather than a fixed count. For bulk and wholesale enquiries, container quantities and repeat programmes, send the schedule and we will quote FOB or CIF against it.
Yes, and we would rather you did. Ask for a wet sample as well as a dry one — every stone darkens when wet, some dramatically, and it is the one thing a photograph cannot show you.
Grain and consistency. Cosmic Black is a solid charcoal mass with a mineral shimmer and slightly more tonal variation piece to piece. Linea Black is a fraction lighter, carries a fine linear grain through every piece, and varies less. Cosmic Black reads as heavy and geological; Linea Black reads as fine and contemporary. On a traditional building choose Cosmic Black; against glass and render choose Linea Black. Order both samples — they photograph almost identically and look quite different in the hand.
Yes. Feature walls, stairwells, reception areas and fireplace surrounds all work, and at 18–28 mm it projects little enough not to catch shoulders in normal circulation. Indoors, sealing is optional. Light it from above or below at a shallow raking angle rather than flat from the front — a raking wash picks out the edge of every piece, which is the whole reason to use a textured stone rather than a flat one.
