Sahara Sands

Stoneza — Anantay Exports Pvt. Ltd. — is a quarry-direct manufacturer, processor and exporter of Natural sandstone, operating from Bhilwara, Rajasthan since 1992. We operate quarries at Bijolia, Kota and Asind alongside verified direct quarry networks across India, processing and calibrating every order through our in-house factories in Bhilwara with zero middle trader markups. We supply pan-India and export worldwide.

Send the quantity, the finish and thickness you need, and the delivery location. We come back with a firm quarry-direct quotation and a confirmed lead time. Thickness and finish options are confirmed at quotation stage. Because we quarry and process ourselves, the quotation comes from the works rather than through a trader — and we would rather quote against a real drawing than hand you an indicative range that changes later.

Camel Dust is the quarry and trade name; Sahara Sands is our name for it. The spec code is STZ-EA-SAHA. Quote the spec code on a BOQ rather than either name — the same stone is sold under several names across India, which is exactly how substitution happens on site after a specification is approved.

Worked smooth without gloss — soft to the touch, low sheen, and far better than a polish at hiding marks, dust and footprints. The most specified interior finish across our range. Brushed with abrasive rotary heads that follow the stone’s own surface rather than grinding it flat, leaving a soft, faintly undulating face with a leather-like feel. Wet grip: moderate. The finish people are happiest with a year later. Colour depth without the maintenance a polish demands.

Damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. Among the most forgiving finishes here — the slight texture disguises dust and marks that a flat surface would show.

Size: Length 3' · Width 2'. Thickness: 22 MM. Supplied crate — 196 sqft/pack, 1000 kg at approximately 6 kg per sq ft. Custom sizing is available on project orders — send the setting-out and we will cut to it.

Yes. At 1.5-2.5% water absorption and 2300 kg/m³ density it is exterior grade. Use a breathable impregnating sealer outdoors, never a film-forming one, and expect the stone to darken when wet — normal, and it reverses as it dries.

Yes. We export worldwide from Bhilwara with container loading, export packing and documentation handled in-house. Minimum order is project-based rather than a fixed count. For bulk and wholesale enquiries, container quantities and repeat programmes, send the schedule and we will quote FOB or CIF against it.

Yes, and we would rather you did. Ask for a wet sample as well as a dry one — every stone darkens when wet, some dramatically, and it is the one thing a photograph cannot show you.

Work backwards from where the material is going rather than from how it looks. Anywhere it gets wet, choose a textured face — shotblast, riverwash or flame. For interiors, leather, satin or honed gives colour without glare and hides marks far better than a polish. Mirror and full polish belong in dry formal spaces only. Each of the 2 finishes has its own page above with a wet-grip rating, the settings it suits and what we would steer you away from. Order samples of the two or three you are weighing up — two finishes can look identical on a screen and completely different in the hand, and no photograph shows you grip.

Impregnating sealer for exteriors Use a breathable impregnating sealer, never a film-forming one. A film traps moisture inside the stone, and in Indian conditions it eventually clouds and lifts, at which point it has to be stripped. An impregnating sealer sits in the pores and lets the stone dry out. Reapply at the manufacturer’s interval, typically every few years on an exposed elevation and less often on a sheltered one.
